What is happening in Iran in 1837CE

The chaos which followed the death of Karim Khan was ended when the cruel Agha Muhammad Khan triumphed over his rivals and became shah (1796). His son, Fath ‘Ali Shah succeeded him the following year, and has reigned ever since, presiding over a period of economic stagnation and some territorial loss.
