FAQs

  1. What system do I need to run TimeMaps?
    OS: Microsoft Windows NT4, 2000m ME, XP or MAC OS
    Processor: Intel Pentium III 400MHz or higher or Intel Celeron 400MHz
    Memory: 256Mb RAM
    Hard Disk: 100 Mb of free hard disk space required
    Monitor: Supporting 1024x768 Resolution

  2. Do I need a sound card?
    TimeMaps includes sound but it is not key to the operation; you do not need a soundcard or speakers to run TimeMaps.

  3. How many computers can I use TimeMaps on?
    TimeMaps licence allows the purchasing school to use TimeMaps on all computers within the school. It does not allow use on computers outside of the school, even by school pupils. If this is required please email us on: enquiries@timemaps.com and we will provide a single user licence at a reasonable rate, depending on the number needed.

  4. How long will it take for my product to arrive after requesting a free trial?
    We will normally process you order within 2 working days and despatch by 2nd Class post.

  5. What shipping options are there available?
    We currently ship our products by 2nd Class Post, but if you would like another option please contact us.

  6. What payment methods do you accept?
    We currently accept Cheque, postal order and BACS or alternatively you can pay by credit card via our secure online credit payment system.

    Cheques should be made payable to ‘Appian Way Software Ltd’.

  7. What happens when the 28 Day Free Trial is over?
    If you order a 28 Day Free Trail, we will send you an invoice with the product. If you wish to keep the program, you simply carry on using the product and give the accompanying invoice to your Finance office.

    If you do not wish to purchase the product you must:
    1. Uninstall it from any machines on which you have been trialling it,
    2. Send the program in its case back to us in the envelope it arrived in, with the invoice and the signed tear off slip indicating that you have uninstalled and we will cancel the invoice.

  8. What resources are there available with this software?
    We have an ever expanding database of resources which customers will be entitled to use once they purchase this software. When you purchase the software, a login and password is sent to you to access the Resources section on the website. There you will find numerous resources including programme upgrades, text from timelines and presentations, chronological activities, historical explanation activities, time quizzes and other teacher notes.

  9. How often do you update the resources section?
    The Resources Section is updated as soon as fresh resources become available.

  10. Can I contribute a resource?
    We would be very grateful for any contributions which other customers may find useful. Please e-mail your resource contribution to: peter.britton@timemaps.com. We will then review the resource and publish accordingly – naturally giving you full credit.

  11. Are there upgrades available?
    Programme upgrades are provided free of charge once you have purchased the product.
