‘Informative and Engaging’ says Classroom Evaluator
Spacer “The title offers a compact, attractive, eye-catching, one stop shop for the topic the Rise and Fall of Nazi Germany. Animated maps present information in an informative and engaging way.”

TEEM (Teachers Evaluating Educational Media) have followed up their initial (very favourable) evaluation of the Rise and Fall of Nazi Germany with one based on actual classroom use of the package. We could scarcely have received a better “report”:

“The title builds and reinforces knowledge and understanding in a way that paper-based resources do not.”

“It is ideal for use with an interactive whiteboard, although it could just as easily be set up for individual students and groups on a classroom laptop or desktop PC.”

A history teacher using the package to reinforce students’ grasp of the Versailles Treaty comments:

"As a 'non techie' I found the program simple to use. The animated maps and graphs helped me explain some quite complicated historical processes in a simple way."

And from a student: "I have found this a difficult subject to understand. Seeing the maps change on the screen really helped me understand more."

The evaluation wasn’t totally without criticism. Some of the pop-up text boxes are pronounced “long winded”. Maybe so – but we are convinced that some of the subject matter calls for more than a sound-bite!
